Shuty MP-1: Starting an era of homemade real weapon



After introducing 3D printer many useful things are made including some body organs’ models from teaching purpose, bikini and car models many design and many more. But now a 47 years old West Virginia carpenter named Derwood made a gun which is created 95% using 3D printing technology.
 He printed the structures and inner materials and then used metallic spring and some other metal components. He named the gun as Shuty-MP1. This is a semi automatic weapon which can fire 9mm bullet rounds by ejecting spent casing and reloading bullets one by one automatically.

According to Derwood “No one had ever tried to get a semi-automatic 3-D printed gun working before…I’m just one of those types, I like to find new things that people say can’t be done,” . Now there is a big security question. But Derwood said that he’ll not publish the CAD file of the gun. He added that criminals are unable to use the gun because the plastic around the gun barrel begins to melt down after 18 shots and deform unless it’s allowed to cool.
